Busy Bristol roads get hi-tech safety cams
Speed cameras and flashing warning signs are to be introduced on two busy Bristol roads.
The city council says Watchman Safety Schemes, which involve cameras facing in each direction and signs that light up to warn drivers of the limit before they reach the cameras, are due to be installed on Whiteladies Road in Clifton and Long Cross, Lawrence Weston.

Council operates 'speed cameras'
Bristol City Council has started a consultation period before installing the Watchman camera system and speed-operated slow-down signs. The cameras are planned for Whiteladies Road, Clifton, and Long Cross.
A spokeswoman said a similar system used in Alison Road, Brislington, had "dramatically cut" traffic speeds.
